What Is Fufu?

Fufu refers to a family of soft, dough-like staple foods commonly eaten with soups and stews in parts of West Africa and elsewhere.

Depending on the recipe and region, it can be made from ingredients such as cassava, yam, plantain or combinations of starches. Rather than being eaten by itself, fufu is typically paired with a flavorful soup or stew.
